KYC Verification: Why It Matters and How It Works
When you join QuickFIX Connect as a provider or serviceman, you will be asked to complete a KYC (Know Your Customer) verification step. This involves uploading a government-issued ID, a selfie, and (for providers) your GST certificate.
It might feel like an extra step, but KYC is the backbone of what makes QuickFIX safe for everyone, servicemen and customers alike.
Why We Require KYC
For Customers
Customers are letting a stranger into their home. KYC verification gives them confidence that the person arriving at their door is who they claim to be. This trust is what makes them willing to book in the first place, which means more jobs for you.
For Servicemen and Providers
KYC protects you too. When every tradesperson on the platform is verified, the platform's reputation stays strong, which means customers keep coming back. It also means you are working alongside a network of verified, accountable professionals, not anonymous freelancers.
For the Platform
KYC helps us keep bad actors out. It prevents fake accounts, fraud, and abuse, which keeps the ecosystem healthy for the tradespeople who are genuinely here to work.
What You Need to Upload
For All Servicemen and Providers
- ID proof (front and back): Aadhaar, PAN, driving licence, or voter ID
- A selfie: A clear photo of your face, taken in good lighting
For Providers (Businesses) Only
- GST certificate: Proof of your registered business
How the Process Works
- Upload your documents through the guided onboarding flow
- AI-assisted verification: Our system checks that your ID appears genuine and that your selfie matches the photo on your ID
- Admin review: For most clean submissions, approval happens within 24 to 48 hours
- Spot checks: A small percentage of auto-approved records are randomly reviewed by our admin team to maintain quality
Tips for a Smooth Approval
- Use a well-lit, clean background for your selfie
- Make sure all four corners of your ID are visible in the photo
- Ensure the text on your ID is readable, not blurred or glare-covered
- Use your real legal name, matching the name on your ID
What Happens After Approval
Once your KYC is approved, your account status changes to "approved" and you become eligible to receive bookings. You will also be linked to your provider or serviceman profile, which customers can view publicly.
If your KYC is rejected, you will receive a reason and can re-upload corrected documents.
KYC Is Not a Hurdle, It Is a Shield
Think of KYC not as red tape, but as the trust infrastructure that brings you customers. Every verified badge on your profile is a signal to a customer that says, "This person is safe to let into my home."
