Your First 30 Days as a QuickFIX Serviceman
So you have signed up, completed your KYC, and been approved. What happens next? This guide walks you through your first month on the platform, from your first booking to building a five-star reputation.
Week 1: Getting Set Up
Complete Your Profile
Before your first job, make sure your profile is complete:
- Photo: A clear, professional photo builds customer trust
- Service categories: Select all the trades you are skilled in
- Working radius: Set this to a distance you can comfortably travel (10-15 km is ideal)
- Availability: Mark yourself as online when you are ready to accept jobs
Understand the Job Flow
Every booking moves through these statuses:
- Pending - A customer has requested a service
- Assigned - You (or your provider) have been matched to the job
- Accepted - You have confirmed you will take it
- En Route - You are on your way to the customer
- Arrived - You have reached the customer's location
- In Progress - You are doing the work
- Completed - The job is done and payment is collected
Update your status at each step. Customers can see this in real time, and it is the single biggest factor in a good review.
Week 2: Your First Bookings
Be On Time
This sounds obvious, but punctuality is the number one thing customers notice. If you say you will be there at 10 AM, be there at 10 AM. If you are running late, update your status and the customer will be notified.
Communicate Clearly
When you arrive, introduce yourself, confirm the service needed, and explain what you will do. Customers appreciate knowing what is happening, even if they do not understand the technical details.
Do Quality Work
This is your trade. Do it the way you would want it done in your own home. A clean, thorough job leads to a five-star review, which leads to more bookings.
Week 3: Building Your Rating
Ask for Reviews
After completing a job, the customer is prompted to leave a rating and review. Most happy customers will do so if reminded gently. These reviews feed directly into your overall rating, which is displayed to every future customer.
Handle Issues Professionally
If something goes wrong, a part is unavailable or a job takes longer than expected, communicate early. Customers forgive delays when they are informed. They do not forgive silence.
Week 4: Maximising Earnings
Accept Jobs Consistently
The platform favours servicemen who accept jobs reliably. If you decline too many bookings, the algorithm may favour other servicemen in your area.
Refer Fellow Tradespeople
When you refer a friend and they get approved, you earn zero commission on your next 3 jobs. That is a direct boost to your earnings, just for growing the network.
Expand Your Service Area (Carefully)
If you are not getting enough jobs, consider expanding your working radius slightly. But do not overextend, travelling too far eats into your time and earnings.
Beyond 30 Days
By the end of your first month, you should have a handful of completed jobs, a growing rating, and a feel for the platform's rhythm. From here, it is about consistency: show up, do good work, communicate well, and the bookings will keep coming.
